Question 1

Are my files moved from Google Drive to another location?

Accepted Answer

No. Your files stay 100% in Google Drive. FolderPls stores each tagged file's Drive ID, name and type, plus the labels and notes you add. File contents stay in Drive; we don't store them.

Question 2

Will my Drive folder structure break when using FolderPls?

Accepted Answer

No. Tagging doesn't change your Drive folders: labels and notes live in FolderPls, on top of your existing structure. Nothing is moved or reorganized unless you copy, move, rename or delete a file yourself.

Question 3

How do Drive permissions work?

Accepted Answer

We use your existing Google Drive permissions. If a user doesn't have permission to view a file in Drive, they won't be able to see it in FolderPls either.

Question 4

Where is metadata stored?

Accepted Answer

The labels and project information you add are stored in our databases. They're not written into the files, so file integrity remains intact.

Question 5

Why filtering instead of just searching?

Accepted Answer

Searching requires you to remember the file name. Filtering allows you to say 'show me the approved files from the marketing team'—which is more natural for the human brain.

Question 6

Can I use FolderPls with multiple Google Drive accounts?

Accepted Answer

Currently, FolderPls works with one Google Drive account at a time. You can switch accounts by signing out and signing in with a different account.

Question 7

What happens if I delete a label?

Accepted Answer

When you delete a label, it's removed from all files that had it. The files themselves remain unchanged in Google Drive.

Question 8

Is FolderPls free to use?

Accepted Answer

We offer a free plan with basic features. Check our Pricing page for details on all available plans.
